Archangel Sandalphon

Archangel Sandalphon

The second and only other man to become an archangel, Sandalphon is the archangel of gentility and kindness, appreciation, and delivering prayers. While human, Sandalphon lived a life so virtuous, that upon his death, he ascended to archangeldom, a privilege that angels very rarely earn. Due to the fact that he was a male while on Earth, I will refer to him as such. However, like the other archangels, he also carries the masculine and feminine energies throughout his entire being. (Humans also carry them, but many do not have them balanced due to the society and culture they were raised in).

Archangel Sandalphon has a knack for calmness, and can truly help those of us who suffer from anxiety and PTSD. While the genre of music doesn't matter, Sandalphon does suggest that we listen to soothing music more often, or finding white noise, a singing bowl, chimes, or listening to the ocean waves or a thunderstorm. Sandalphon wants our connection between mind, body and spirit to be a very healthy one, with little to no blockages, so he'll make us practice finding these energy blocks and teach us how to release them. In my practice with Sandalphon, he's made me take a 5 minute break every hour to stretch my body from repetitive motions and do a 1 minute breathing exercise. Every morning when I wake up, after my dream journal, Sandalphon has me warm my body up for the day through gentle stretches and yoga. A little goes a long way, so you can start off with 1 minute breathing exercises and eventually develop a 15 minute window to relax your body and mind.

Sandalphon also helps us develop self-appreciation and excitement with our lives through gratitude journaling and acceptance. Humanity struggles with receiving, because we've been taught and have evolved from a scarcity mindset. We ask for things because we are devoid of them, and feed the scarcity vibration in a cyclical pattern. We mistake want as need and develop unhealthy attachments to things that we feel are fleeting. Sandalphon wants to help us evolve how we practice receiving by developing our gratitude for what we already have. Instead of seeing the glass half empty, Sandalphon can help expand our mindset to seeing things as half full, with knowledge that the rest of the water is coming because we claimed it.

When working with Sandalphon, prepare yourself with journals, schedule a bit of time everyday to practice self-love and reflection, and keep yourself hydrated. Use turquoise/light blue crystals, music instruments, singing bowls, and water in your practice. Sandalphon doesn't require an altar, but if it will help you increase your self-satisfaction, create an altar where you collect your manifestations and victories. A jar collecting your daily gratitude or good experience of the day, is also a great way to practice healing with Sandalphon.
