Archangel Raphael
By Bartolome Esteban Murillo

Archangel Raphael is the physician of the heavens. They rule over health, bodies, and medical professionals. The wellness of each realm of life (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) is directly connected to each other realm. If you are not well in one realm, the others will begin to deteriorate as well. Raphael is able to mend wounds in any and all of the realms.

Physical health is prioritized in modern society, but in fact it can be much more necessary to be mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy - the physical realm is more dependent on the other three than they are dependent on the physical realm. Proper exercise and dietary habits require a motivation that cannot exist if one is not mentally able to maintain it. Emotional trauma can have severe physiological side effects. Spiritual disconnection or misguidance can lead to feelings of dysphoria and depression. Raphael can assist with aligning the four realms and repairing any lost connections between them.

Raphael's preferred color is green, though this does not necessarily refer to the heart chakra. Every chakra is equally important to Raphael, as they all have important functions in maintaining one's health and happiness. As such, any crystals with chakra-healing properties can be used when working with Raphael, but candles should be deep green and incense should be calming. Additionally, you can place selenite or any white/clear crystal at the site of a physical injury, and Raphael will be drawn to its energy and will use it to accelerate healing of the wound.

Raphael also accepts prayers and offerings for loved ones. They enjoy plants, bread, and fish, along with something that belongs to the person for whom the prayer is being issued. Place the items on an altar with a dark green candle and communicate with the candle as often as you wish, but at least every morning and evening while it is burning. Once the candle has finished burning, remove the offerings and dispose of any perishable items, then bury the candle near your home. (If you live in an apartment or somewhere where you are not able to dig a hole in the ground, place the candle in a pot and cover it with dirt, then place it outside of where you live.)
